Let’s See Red Project

During November and December, menstrual health training took place in Region 6 (Upper River Region) and Region 2 (West Coast) of The Gambia.

During the training teachers were taught how to make reusable sanitary pads. For more information about the Let’s See Red Project can be found in the projects section.

The project is making a significant difference to the lives of girls in The Gambia and is helping to ensure their attendance at school.

One teacher commented: ‘I have students in my class who do not come to school during their menses claiming to be sick because they cannot afford sanitary pads and are afraid of soiling their uniforms. Teaching them how to make sanitary pads will go a long way in helping the girls.’
