Dembo’s Vehicle

Meet Dembo Marong. Since 2009 Dembo has been one of our landrovers drivers, taking us to all the places we visit in The Gambia and acting as a valuable source of local knowledge. In May 2018 Project Gambia purchased a vehicle that Dembo could use to run tours and take tourists around The Gambia. The monies raised from this has been used to pay Dembo a regular wage, support the building of the new classroom block at Madiana School and to purchase fences for the market gardens in Madiana. Income from the vehicle will also be used to support other projects we will be developing in The Gambia.
